Reporting a figure you think is wrong
Corrections are the most useful message we get, and they are checked rather than filed. To make that quick, include the address of the page, the purchase price, which of the three taxes applies, the buyer type you selected, and the figure the relevant authority's own calculator gives for the same inputs. The site's figures are checked against those official calculators before every release, so a disagreement is either a rate change we have not yet picked up or a genuine error, and both are worth knowing about. If a figure is wrong, the dataset is corrected, the external check is re-run and the affected pages are rebuilt with a new verification date.
What we cannot help with
We cannot advise on a specific purchase, confirm whether you qualify for a relief, tell you what your conveyancer should file, or deal with an authority on your behalf. Those depend on the facts of a transaction and on records we do not have and do not want. For a question about your own purchase, contact HM Revenue & Customs, Revenue Scotland or the Welsh Revenue Authority for the tax that applies, and speak to your conveyancer, who files the return and settles the tax due. StampBand is not affiliated with any of those bodies and cannot act for you with them.
