StampBand

Terms of use

StampBand publishes general information about three United Kingdom property transaction taxes. Using the site means accepting the terms below.

General information, not advice

Everything on this site is published for general information. It is not financial, tax, legal or conveyancing advice, it is not a substitute for advice, and no relationship of adviser and client is created by reading it or by using a calculator. Nothing here should be treated as a ruling on a particular purchase. Before committing to a transaction or filing a return, take advice from your conveyancer or a qualified adviser and check the position with the authority that charges the tax.

Figures are estimates, and the authority's determination prevails

Figures shown are estimates produced from published rate tables for the stated tax year and buyer type, on the assumption of a standard residential freehold purchase. They do not model multiple dwellings relief, linked transactions, mixed-use property, leasehold premium and net present value calculations, corporate purchases and the flat higher rate that can apply to them, or any relief not named on the page. Rates change, and a page may be read after a change. HM Revenue & Customs, Revenue Scotland and the Welsh Revenue Authority each determine the tax actually due on a transaction in their regime, and where their determination differs from anything on this site, theirs is the one that counts.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Considerable care goes into the figures and they are checked against the authorities' own calculators before release, but no guarantee is given that every figure is correct or current at the moment you read it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the site, including tax underpaid or overpaid, penalties or interest, or a transaction entered into on the basis of a figure shown here. Reliance on the site is at your own risk.

Publisher, licence and non-affiliation

StampBand is published by Inventum, a company registered in Australia, and is not established in the United Kingdom. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for HM Revenue & Customs, Revenue Scotland, the Welsh Revenue Authority or any United Kingdom government body. Rate tables reproduced here are public sector information used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Original text, page structure and the site's own calculations remain the property of the publisher. Questions about these terms go to support@inventum.com.au.
